Food is one of my biggest passions and I love exploring new cuisines and restaurants all the time and next on my list was Quattro – a vegetarian restaurant specializing in Italian and Mexican cuisines. Yes, it is a vegetarian restaurant serving international cuisine and alcohol, quite a rare combination. So we visited Quattro and tasted their elaborate menu. Yes it was a huge tasting consisting a good mix of Italian and Mexican dishes.
The first thing that catches your fancy when you reach the restaurant is its super chic navy blue door which gives it the look of a cafe , however once you enter it exudes a feel of a swanky restaurant with comfortable seating and an open kitchen, so you can spectate your food being made. The decor is pretty spot on and the place has a cozy and warm feeling to it.
We started off with a couple of mocktails, the berry mojito and the green apple iced tea.
Both the drinks were refreshing and provided the perfect start to the gastronomical journey we were about to get on.
Minestrone tea set – at a glance we couldn’t have guessed the recipe! Tea pot accompanied by tea bag, Parmesan cheese, pasta chunks, seasoning, a bit confusing eh!? Well that’s how they are serving their tomato based soup, you gotta try it to know how it works, we loved the Flavor..
Corn Cookies – small cookies made of corn topped with beans, broccoli, jalapeño & cheese. Good option for starters.
Taquito – can’t miss this! It’s a Mexican dish made of rolled tortilla and filled with different fillings. The one served at Quattro adds a twist to it, come shaped small tortilla filled with cheese and topped with avocado ice cream. We loved the cold and crispy together.
Margherita Upside Down Pizza – MUST TRY!! Margherita pizza baked in wood fire oven right in front of us, turned upside down, we relished each bite of it. Thin Italian crust baked perfectly, topped with cheese, tomatoes & basil leaves.
Jalapeño Riso Cottage cheese – Mexican rice served with grilled cottage cheese, fries & pepper sauce. If you love that exquisite spice in your food, you have to try this dish, tangy and spicy in Flavor went really well with grilled cottage cheese & pepper sauce.
We tried the Tres Leches and the Chocolate Cigars for dessert, both of which were exceptionally prepared and presented and were the absolute textbook conclusion to our meal!
All and all, a very novel experience. The quality of molecular gastronomy is exquisite and a refreshing change from the regular looking dishes served at restaurants. If you’re looking for a vegetarian restaurant that serves alcohol and gives the non vegetarian ones a serious run for their money, quattro is your best bet. Drop in to experience a place that doesn’t just please your palette but also takes you for a visual treat all at the same time.
